Care begins with showing up. At Ugbowa Health Centre in Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, Mater Angelo Care Foundation worked in collaboration with Community Health Center, Ugbowa, to bring health education and basic screening activities closer to community members.

Here is a visual look at the day—from screening and one-to-one interactions to the community coming together around health and wellbeing.

Ugbowa Community Healthcare Outreach: in pictures

Care, connection and prevention

Blood pressure checks and blood sugar testing formed part of the outreach, alongside health education and conversations about prevention and early detection. These screening activities can help people become more aware of important health indicators and seek advice from a qualified health professional when follow-up is needed. Screening alone is not a diagnosis.

The photographs capture more than individual activities: they reflect the value of showing up, listening respectfully and making health information more accessible. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and to have the opportunity to make informed decisions about their wellbeing.

With appreciation

We thank Community Health Center, Ugbowa, and everyone who contributed to making this outreach possible. Through collaboration and community participation, we continue working towards communities where compassion meets action and care reaches people with respect.
